I
specialize in making custom duvets. A duvet (pronounced "due-vay") is
really just a
giant pillowcase. The pillows they enclose are comforters. The beauty of
duvets is that in the summer when it gets hot, you can just remove the
comforter and sleep under the empty
duvet. The design can be your design, my design, or something we come up
with together. I have quilt designing software that enables me to create
designs, and we can audition different looks to be sure you get just what you want. I have a large stash of fabrics, and have several lovely
fabric stores nearby. If you have your fabric already picked out or in
your possession, that is wonderful as well. I'll use whatever cotton or
cotton-blend fabrics you want, from any source. I make single- and
double-sided duvets. Single-sided just means that only one side of the
duvet is pieced/decorated, using a solid sheet as the back side.
Double-sided means that both sides of the duvet are pieced with a designed
pattern. My own is single-sided, but after making several double-sided
ones (one is my daughter's), I would rather have a double. When you're tired of
seeing the same old thing, you just flip it over for an entirely
different-looking duvet. Click the links at left to see some
